In this article, we will show you how to generate CSR for SSL. In order to enroll for a SSL certificate, you must generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) from the system where you want to run the certificate. Generating CSR is easy just follow the steps below

Log into your control panel.

Click on the 'Websites & Domains'

Click the domain name that you want to secure with SSL.

Click the SSL/TLS Certificates icon.

Click on the Add SSL/TLS Certificate icon.

Enter the Certificate Name to easily recognize the certificate among the others on the server and fill in the required information for the CSR code:

The Bits selection allows you to choose the level of encryption of your SSL certificate. Select the appropriate number from the drop down box.

Enter your details into the

State or province

Location (city)

Organization name (company)

Organization department or division name

Domain name: Enter the fully qualified domain name for which the SSL will be activated (common name).

After the details have been filled in click the Request button.

You will be directed back to the SSL Certificates section. From here you will need to click on the certificate that has just been created.

Copy the entire CSR part from where the text starts with -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- to where it ends with -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- save this to a notepad file.

You will need to provide this to your certificate authority. They will then provide you the certificate to upload to Plesk.
