Reset your WordPress password via phpMyAdmin

Note - It is always good to take a backup of database before making any modifications.

Here we are going to reset the password using phpmyadmin. To do this first you need to findfind the database you are using for wordpress. The database details can be found in  your wp-config.php file which is located in your root WordPress Directory. Now open phpmyadmin to do this

1. Click on website and domains > Databases > phpMYAdmin

2. A window will pop up, showing you the phpMyAdmin screen. On the left hand side, locate

the database your WordPress install uses.

3. Click the little plus next to the Database. You will be shown a long list of table entries, each one prefixed with a random string of letters, for example “WP_TABLE”. Locate the entry that ends with “_users”, eg WP_users click this link. Locate your Login user name under the “user_login” Column. Once you have found it, double click on the “user_pass” field. You will be able to edit the entry.

4. Delete what is currently in there, and paste your new password into this box. From the drop-down, select MD5.

Finally click on Go.
